Dear @isteinbrecher, according to what you said, I have created a new project, but the same bug still appears.

First, I created a total new project with nothing else there.

Then, I created several formulas using LaTeX2AI, and closed the project without saving it.

After that, the AI window is kept active, and I reopen the new project, then the error window appears.

I have tried with 1.0.0-rc.1 and also your current lastest fix 15838fe. The phenamna are the same as below:
2024-10-21_082552

In order to clarify, I further tested v0.0.10, but the result was still that the function reported an error:
2024-10-21_084721

Though this warning consistently appears, it seems that it doesn't really affect the normal work of LaTeX2AI, every formula can be compiled correctly after ignoring this warning.

BTW, the version of my AI is v29.0. I'm not sure if this can influence.

This error is still weird. I will upload a debug version so you can further track where the reason for this error comes from. Unfortunately I don't know when I will have the time to do so. I will keep you posted.

@MGG1996 please try the following version of LaTeX2AI, it should give a more detailed error output to further track the issue.

I tested the debug version and the following error page was thrown with nothing else.

Indeed, the stack trace does not work with the shipped binary, I was not aware about that. I will upload a version that logs the relevant information in the upcoming days.

I think I accidentally ran into the error you report, but I can’t reproduce it. I suspect the error could occur if the “Create LaTeX2AI label tool” is activated when the document is opened. Can you confirm that? Or does the error also occur when the “selection tool” is activated?

Dear @isteinbrecher, I greatly admire your spirit of inquiry. Inspired by your advice above, I think I have found the way that can stabily trigger this issue.

  1. First, open a project in AI and activate the Create LaTeX2AI label tool and keeps it activated.
  2. Then close the project, not the AI software, with even no operation and saving to the project.
  3. Again, open the project, now the bug window is raised. At that moment, the default activated tool remains to be Create LaTeX2AI label tool.

I can almost be certain that this is the reason. When I switch the tool to selection tool of AI in step 1, and repeat the following steps, this bug no longer appears.

Great, this further narrows down the issue for this bug. I will upload a version in the upcoming days that should finally find the exact reasons. I will let you know once it is ready. Also thanks to you for putting in the work and reporting!
