Lowercase y alternate needed

It's been brought to my attention that the lowercase y can be mistaken as a v at times. The descender is short. I would suggest shifting the left arm of the character slightly left with less overlap to define the descender intersection better. Or adding an opentype alternative, maybe similar to the junction on the lowercase k.
