This is a free browser extensions that plays YouTube Shorts in the normal YouTube player.
It is designed for Chrome and Firefox.

The YouTube Shorts player is annoying becuase you can't rewind videos, among other problems. This browser extension will automatically redirect all YouTube Shorts video so that they play in the normal YouTube player. That will allow you to rewind the videos and view them just like any normal YouTube video.
Firefox uses manifest v2. Chrome uses manifest v3. A script copies the files to the right places when it's built.
