Fresh Install / Auto redirect error #672
Comments
How is your settings in IIS - only anonymous should be enabled. I have experienced looping if other settings was applied. Changing of authentication should be set in the webconfig. |
Same problem here, with Windows Server 2008 R2/IIS 7.5 |
Van you post hos tour setup info is in both ISS and Bonobo config? |
This is the only app on the server. IIS is set to anonymous only. The only thing in the web.config file that mentions authentication is the following:
|
If you run the (network page of the) developer tools on your browser, you might be able to see what the redirect loop consists of, and if there are any messages in the 301/302 response. |
Developer Tools for Chrome: Found lots of 302s, then a ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS |
You need to look at the URL of the redirect and look at the actual response. It is a really big push to hope that the very small Bonobo team can help with the almost infinite number of ways in which IIS can be configured to fail to serve a site, so you need to offer 110% of all the assistance you can to us if you're to have any hope of us helping you. |
Thank you for the reply. I have provided 110% assistance thus far. The first 3 url responses were status 200 OK (below)
Then the server responded with with the following url which gave a 302 Found status:
|
I'm guessing they were screenshots? Try going to You MUST DO THIS ON THE SERVER - you can't request that URL remotely. |
Having the exact same problem and when trying the URL you provided with my info filled in I still get the 302 error. |
@LiquidGitHub Is there a log file being written in app_data\logs ? Is there anything useful in there? |
@willdean There isn't even a logs folder. Nothing useful just the 302 error. Oh and the 3 images that alaskandruid posted are just the images files that chrome uses for the no internet connection browser game. Doesn't matter if I try version 6.0 or 6.1 both have the same 302 error. Edit: Windows Server 2012 R2 / IIS 8.5 |
It's going to be hard to debug this by guessing, really - clearly it's not really starting at all if there's nothing logged. Make sure you have .NET 4.6 installed, registered with IIS and that your IIS App Pool is set to use it. |
@willdean .NET 4.6? I have .NET 4.5 installed and ASP.NET 4.5 there is not 4.6 in my Features list. |
@LiquidGitHub Sorry, I think we are dependent on 4.6 now, as it was required for some other dependency. I will update the prerequisites list on the bonobo.com site. You will need to install 4.6 |
@willdean Yeah thanks this fixed the problem. |
@LiquidGitHub Thanks for letting us know - I have updated the pre-requisites page on the website. It was a bit of a mistake that we took this new dependency so casually and didn't update everything appropriately, sorry about that. |
That was it! I followed the instructions @ https://github.com/jakubgarfield/Bonobo-Git-Server It mentioned 4.5, so I installed that (and got the infinite loop). Once 4.6 was installed, I now get a login page! May want to update that page as well ;) TY for your help. |
@AlaskanDruid Thanks for letting us know - glad it's working. I have fixed that page now - I hadn't realised the wrong info was in two places. |

Bonobo is permanent redirect loop. No errors except loop error.
Anyone had luck on installing and working for windows 2008 R2/IIS 7.5
