With version 1.4 I'm not longer asked to provide my credentials for the samba mount and so it doesn't get mounted #48

Hi,
another issue has occured when we use 1.4 . In older versions as soon as I selected my samba share I got asked by the Finder to provide the credentials and when provided the Samba share for which i've given access to certain usergroups using the Flleshares.conf on the Samba server itself was mounted and also available in JamfSync for uploading packages.
But JamfSync 1.4 doesn't ask for the mount credentials and therefore the Fileshare isn't mounted in the Finder at all and JamfSync keeps asking for the Fileshare password.
In order to use JamfSync for our purposes our Site Admins have to switch back to the 1.2 version where the mount works fine.
Could you add the feature for mounting the File share to this version?

Password is not prompted for if a valid set of credentials is found in the keychain, so it's certainly odd the share doesn't mount. And odd it doesn't prompt when the mount fails.
Note, you should not get a Finder prompt for credentials any more but a prompt from Jamf Sync.
Locate the credentials saved in the keychain by searching for JamfSync and delete them.
Relaunch Jamf Sync and you should be prompted for credentials.
Can you provide some logging that displays the mount failure?

Hi, when deleting the keychain entries I get the password prompt. But this only asks me for the password of the smb file share which I have mounted in the fstab and which I've also provided in the jamf-pro WebGui. But it doesn't ask me for the username for which I've given the right permissions on our samba server itself. And as we are using Sites I cannot give the smb password to the local admins. And therefore i've used user management from our samba in the past. But as it seems this doesn't work any longer.
