When I install nim, nim compiler works fine but nimble errors out as shown. I am not sure what's up.

actually I think in your case you have something else going on

actually this does seem to be an issue with the plugin, it appears to be using a shim that probably isn't compatible with mise https://github.com/asdf-community/asdf-nim/blob/main/shims/nimble

I decided to manually set up Nim. Which sucks because now I have to manually version control Nim. I guess using asdf and mise together could work but I don't like the idea.

Since Nim toolchain (or the plugin for that matter) isn't compatible with Mise, I think it's fair to put a warning for anybody trying to set it up. I had to spend quite a bit of time to make sure it has nothing to do with my setup, essentially wasting my time.
