mise fails to get latest version for python

Since today (2025-01-27), mise up has been started showing the following warning.

mise WARN  Error getting latest version for python: git failed: Cmd(["git", "-C", "/Users/uasi/.cache/mise/python/pyenv", "-c", "safe.directory=/Users/uasi/.cache/mise/python/pyenv", "fetch", "--prune", "--update-head-ok", "origin", "master:master"]) fatal: 'origin' does not appear to be a git repository
fatal: Could not read from remote repository.

Please make sure you have the correct access rights
and the repository exists.

mise All tools are up to date

I have been running brew upgrade mise && mise up semi-daily for a few months, and it worked without any issues until yesterday.

Strangely, the .git/config file is missing in the local git repository at ~/.cache/mise/python/pyenv, so the remote named origin is not configured at all.

Running rm -rf ~/.cache/mise/python/pyenv && mise up re-created the repo with the correct .git/config, and the warning was disappeared.

Although the warning is now gone and I am no longer affected, I am reporting this issue because the root cause is still unclear, and it might be helpful for others.
