generic-x86_64: cloning to local disk fails with 'ERROR: target bootfs missing'

Since introduction of the generic-x86_64 target local cloning seem to fail with a final ERROR: target bootfs missing error at the end similar to that discussion here:

Ich bekomme immer bei verschiedenen NUC´s die untenstehenden Meldungen.
Partitionen wurde mehrfach gelöscht, trotzdem komme ich nicht weiter.
