the Philippines, Inc

<h3>About The Association</h3>
<br/>
<p>
Administrators of several private hospitals convened and decided to
form an association of private hospitals nationwide on March 13,
1979 in Antipolo, Rizal that will properly address the problems of
the industry. Thus, the Private Hospitals Association of the
Philippines, Inc. (PHAP) was born.

<h3>Mission & Vision</h3>

<ul>

In pursuing the association's objectives as a
non-stock/non-government organization, PHAP shall undertake the
following:
</li>
<li>
To promote general public welfare through the development of
excellent and professional hospital care for the people.
</li>
<li>
To foster fellowship among member hospitals as well as their
staff.
</li>
<li>
To organized and integrate plan of action that will enable the
members to procure medical supplies, equipment and medicine at
lower prices authorized by law;
</li>
<li>
To promote the relevant and realistic hospital management and
administration and ensure integrity and quality of service;
</li>
<li>
To stimulate state-of-the-art medical research and encourage
scientific activities in the ecosystems;
</li>
<li>
To unite members for the common good and understanding in the
free discussion of problems affecting their services and above
all to protect all members against unwarranted impositions of
rules and regulations by the government;
</li>
<li>
To acquire either by our chase, leave of otherwise real estate
for the establishment and construction of a building for the use
and convenience of the association's members, and
</li>
<li>
To maintain its firm commitment and role as healthcare provider
rendering affordable medical services.

<h3>Who are those qualified to be a member of PHAP?</h3>
<br/>
<p>
Any privately owned clinics, private hospitals or other health
facilities engaged in any aspect of the delivery of services either
facilitating and providing healthcare services in accordance with
the healthcare principles and shall comply the requirements of
membership of the association. (Refers to Membership Form).

<p>
PHAP operates on a national scope and has a growing membership of
over 600 members throughout the country. Out of the 1,071 licensed
private hospitals at the Department of Health, 50% are recognized
members of the association who actively participate and support all
the PHAP activities since its inception.
</p>

<p>
The association conducts regional seminars and symposia in Luzon,
Visayas and Mindanao periodically. PHAP has been undertaking
continuing professional education program and has conducted over 6
programs per year since its foundation in 1979 and with a combined
attendance of over 400 participants per seminar for the past 31
years and these numbers will still be growing in the next centuries.

PHAP is cooperating with different government agencies such as the
Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Phil health), Department of
Health (DOH) and the House of Representatives in facing various
pending laws that will affect the private hospitals systems and
administration. The association also organizes ICD-10 Coding of
Diseases in cooperating with the PhilHealth since year 2008 to
present (2011).

PHAP being an organization, which is dedicated to the management and
concerns of private hospitals in the Philippines, is the appropriate
organization to represent the concerns of the private hospitals
nationwide.
