Creating a line with borders

Is it possible to create a line with a black boarders around it? I'm currently using lines with light colors (yellow) and the contrast isn't high enough to see the lines. The solution I'd like to use is adding small black lines to either side of the main line making it easier to see it's path. Similar to how the following text is easier to read regardless of the background.
