Feature request: Error log

When textern throws exceptions or other errors, it would be nice if it made a timestamped record of them in a log somewhere on the filesystem.

This would make debugging textern infinitely easier.

Even better would be if it had configurable log levels, with more verbose logging options causing textern to write more details about what it's doing (or trying to do) to the log.
