How to use GetConnect socket()?

I am at loss as to how to use it, i don't know where to send message after calling below:

  GetSocket userMessages() {
    return socket('https://yourapi/users/socket');
  }

Using VSCode autocomplete on socket(), there are only the "url", "ping" and & "close()". But looking at the getx files sockets_html.dart & sockets_io.dart there are many functions.

I don't know how to properly call those. Could someone post a working code/snippet to use socket() here?
