+1 for this. Site is down.

I'm a little concerned about the stability of any project that can't keep its website online. Anyone know of any reasonable forks or alternatives to Pixastic that has an active community?

:( sad. Good library none the less.

Just to update: I contacted the author. He's alive but apparently busy with a new job and kid.

Is there any documentation somewhere else?

You can still access it through the web archive

I'm starting to copy that snapshot to a more maintainable/reliable place and just have github serve it.

Hey just an update, I'm mostly done with porting the docs over (using Octopress). There's still some broken links here and there, but the core documentation is done. I'm using github pages to serve it so it should be pretty reliable.

EnotionZ - thanks a ton for bringing back the Pixastic documentation. That's a definite starting point.

I think the next step is for someone who has the time to maintain it to fork this project. It's pretty clear that the original author isn't coming back anytime soon. As far as I can tell, Pixastic is still the best option out there for a semi-professional, flexible, web-based image manipulation tool. There are some interesting "up-and-coming" demos out there, but nothing worth using yet in production.
