Since StructMAn combines the results from many different structural annotations, we need a measure for the quality of a protein sequence to structure annotation. This measure includes three parameters:
The sequence identity (S) of the alignment of the given input protein sequence and the sequence of the backbone of the annotated structure.
The coverage (C) of the same alignment.
The atomic resolution (R) of the annotated structure.
The quality measure is then calculated using the following formula:
