'Create folder in' (1) confuses, (2) hangs.

When one goes to create a new directory, one expects to enter the directory path. Yet, the dialogue box that appears seems to ask for the path of the parent directory. Screenshot:

Moreover: at least on the particular setup that I have (see below) the creation of the directory hung, necessitating terminating the program via an external tool.
