I used to use mp3fs on (I think) xubuntu 22.04 and it worked very well.
However I've recently tried it on two xubuntu 24.04 systems and it's impossibly slow and, whenever you access an mp3 file it has created, the CPU usage by mp3fs goes to 100%.
Is there some setting I'm missing that might help? I currently have the following in /etc/fstab:-
Is the statcachesize=1000 a sensible value? I'm not sure it's even necessary as I'm not using VBR but I thought I'd try it just in case, it doesn't seem to help.
