If it is possible, could you please upgrade the version of the ss server?

You could attempt to replace the ss-server binary file with newer versions of ss-server.
For the newer versions, please refer to the releases in https://github.com/shadowsocks/openwrt-shadowsocks. They publish precompiled binaries of ss-server for different processor archs. Choose based on your processor.
This method worked on my Netgear R6300v2 with Merlin 380.70_0-X7.9.1. Hope this could help.
