how do i remove or modify the separator here?

so the one on the right is pretty fine but the rounded one on the left seems a bit fat as in thick for some reason

is there a way to make the tab separator here in the rounded case ) thin?
or maybe a way to hide the separator
or maybe change the separator

note i have to keep the style powerline and round

i am not writing a custom one because this one is already great but the font being thick is really annoying me
