I think it will be nice if there were a CONTRIBUTING.md file with info on how to contribute (how to build, how to run all the tests/CI (I had to find scripts/code_analyze.sh through .gitlab-ci.yml), how to add translation strings etc.)
It's not impossible to figure out, but it may be more encouraging for new contributors if there is an overview of sorts.

It would maybe also be a nice place to advertise the translation room and so on.
