Per @dreamingfifi on #14, there is an attested (ref) case where Christmas was spelled with an "a" tehta over the final "sa-rince".

calma;romen;silme-nuquerna:i;tinco;malta:s-final;:a

Dan Smith notation (presumably Tengwar Parmaitë applicable).

Z78$t+D

+ is sa-rince. D is the tehta "a" rendered over the sa-rince.

Here are the complications:

  • The transcriber is not currently set up to treat sa-rince as a tehta carrier.
  • The fonts are dependent on knowing the consonant in the same column to determine how to attach the sa-rince to the end of the tengwa.
  • Tengwar Annatar is does not render malta:sa-rince sensibly, since the base line has a slight upward hook that does not connect to the sa-rince glyph. There may be a truncated alternate form of malta. It is possible however to make it an exception instead of the rule by cloning the Dan Smith bindings onto the Annatar or Parmaitë renderer and making a special case.
