Two Questions about diskDeviceSelector #841

I'm confused about 'dm-.+' in diskDeviceSelector defined in config.libsonnet.

To be specific, I have two confused questions:

why diskDeviceSelector use 'dm-.+' instead of 'mapper/.+'?
In panel IOPS(Reads+Writes) defined in cluster.libsonnet: why container_fs_reads_total is set label diskDeviceSelector while container_fs_writes_total is not set label diskDeviceSelector?
