@kawych Here's what I could find:

Changes

• Added --kubelet-certificate-authority: Support kube-apiserver and kubelet using a different CA (Add kubelet-certificate-authority flag #183)
• Allow non-cluster admins to request metrics: Added aggregated ClusterRole to grant read permissions for metrics API group(Add aggregated ClusterRole to grant read permissions for metrics API … #149)
• Don't skip unready nodes: Kubelet may still be running and returning metrics (fix: do not skip unready nodes #197)
• Ignore pods not in Running phase: Reduces false positive errors in logs (fix: ignore pod not in Running phase #194)
• Remove unnecessary RBAC permissions (Remove unneeded RBAC rules #195)
• Scrape metrics on startup: Don't wait for the first relist interval, allowing health checks to be successful (Scrape metrics on startup #177)

@kawych and @steven-sheehy, we are very interested getting ahold of a metrics-server release with the --kubelet-certificate-authority. Do you have an idea yet on a timetable for this new release?
