3D terrain mesh with 2D tile overlay and buildings in 3D: all in one file.

Yes, the buildings are floating but they should be grounded very soon - with sun ranges and solar access soon after that.

And, of course available for any lat and lon and any date and time.

It's starting to work!!!

Type an address and bingo!

Speed highly dependent on number of structures.

image

Coit Tower, San Francisco / 1350 structures ~ 30 seconds

image

Tenzing-Hillary Airport, Chaurikharka, Eastern Region, Nepal / fifteen seconds?

Still a number of issues - especially matching building and mesh scales.

Suns and shadows by Sunday???

It's taken a bit longer than I wanted to get to where things are today, but then again lots of features creeped in - such as cursor key moves and address auto completion.

There will be a full blog post in the next day or so, And all the Sun shade, solar access features should come on board - and that will happen in Ladybug Web.

In the meantime I would be pleased to get some feedback as to if entering an address to update the location works for you.

@theo-armour, it works seamlessly on my side. very nice. A couple of questions.

  1. Is the height exaggerated or did you intentionally picked sites that has drastic elevation changes?
  2. What does the color of the buildings mean? I think , specially for shadow studies it would be nice to have them all in a monotone color.
