On Twitter, you mentioned that, "Beginners looking for ways to contribute to the #rstats community, should definitely reach out to maintainers and offer to PR these kinds of updates to bring packages to modern programming standards (if the maintainers are interested)."
I'd definitely be interested in that sort of thing. Could you add a section to the README illustrating what that might look like? Is it simply a matter of moving packages from Depends to Imports and updating the NAMESPACE to export any functions from the imported packages that are used?
