Hey @sumpg41! I'm here to help you with any bugs, questions, or contributions while you wait for a human maintainer. Let's work together to resolve this issue.

The issue you're experiencing with missing and canceled/deleted meetings in MeetingBar could be related to how the app handles event statuses and synchronization with Google Calendar.

  1. Missing Meetings:

    • Ensure that the event is not filtered out by MeetingBar's settings. MeetingBar differentiates between active and canceled/deleted events using the event.status and event.participationStatus properties. If an event is marked as declined or canceled, it might be hidden based on your preferences [1].
    • You can manually refresh or force sync the events to ensure the latest data from Google Calendar is displayed by calling the fetchEvents method in the AppDelegate class [2].
  2. Canceled/Deleted Meetings Still Showing:

    • MeetingBar checks if event.status is .canceled or if event.participationStatus is .declined to hide such events. Ensure that these properties are correctly set in your Google Calendar [1].
    • There was a similar issue reported where rescheduled meetings were not recognized, which might be related. The issue was resolved as it appeared to be local to the user's machine [3].

To address these issues, you can try the following steps:

  • Refresh Events: Manually refresh the events using the fetchEvents method.
  • Check Event Status: Verify the status of the events in Google Calendar and ensure they are correctly marked.
  • Clear and Reset Cache: Clear and reset the local cache to ensure fresh data is fetched from Google Calendar [4].

If the problem persists, it might be helpful to check for any updates or patches for MeetingBar that address these specific issues.

Hi @sumpg41,
Thanks for the report!
Could you share your Appearance settings? Maybe some of them are set to hide?

Thanks for this amazing tool. However, this problem makes the main use of this app for me quite degraded.

I have a similar problem. A recently added meeting or deleted meeting is not always reflected. The reactiveness of the app for the connected Google calendar seems to be flaky :/

It corrects the problem when Quick Actions -> Refresh sources is clicked. I believe this should be done regularly automatically without need of manual clicks.

@leits Quick Actions -> Refresh sources does not fix the problem for me. I am unsure of what to do here

I have the same problem and refresh sources does not solve it.

Agreed; refresh sources does not help at all. I disconnected the calendar, switched to Mac calendar for a while, switched it back to Google Calendar, manually selected calendars from the listed options in Calendar Preferences of MeetingBar and it still doesn't bring it in. I'm quite sure it worked well about a year ago, not sure if any recent update nuked it. Kinda disappointed since I really did like the app.
