Bug description

MeetingBar is drawing significant amounts of power over the past month or so.

I've also noticed that when I hover or click on the menu bar item, it often hangs / pinwheels for a good 3-5 seconds. Not sure if it is related.

Hey @timcappalli! I'm here to help you with your MeetingBar issue. I'm an expert bot that can assist you in solving bugs, answering questions, and becoming a contributor. Let's tackle this together!

There are a few similar issues related to high power usage and application hangs in MeetingBar:

  1. Bug: Spinning wheel when using the app: This open issue suggests that enabling the "details as submenu" option under the Appearance tab can cause the app to lag. Disabling this feature might help improve performance.

  2. Bug: High energy consumption, apple silicon: This open issue also addresses high energy consumption, though it specifically mentions Apple Silicon.

Additionally, in version 4.7, a fix was implemented for high CPU usage when meeting details are displayed in the submenu, which might be related to the performance issues you're experiencing [1]. You might want to check if this feature is enabled and try disabling it to see if it resolves the issue.
