Would someone be so kind as to tell me how to install the mysql backend and configure rugged to use it? I've installed libgit2 using homebrew. Beyond that, I have done nothing out of the ordinary.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Rugged does not support custom backends out-of-the box.

There's PR #410 which exposes the custom backends API, but there's no gem for the mysql backend, only PostgreSQL, as far as I know.

The main reason custom backends are not really exposed is that their performance characteristics are not really great.

Thank you. I'll see what I can find and see whether performance is "acceptable" or not.

There is a Redis backend using the proposal backend integration from #410 https://github.com/redbadger/rugged-redis if you're interested

I guess this can be closed now? #410 was merged some time ago.

Closing this as #410 resolved this a while ago.
