Issues for ASLIB project, identified by Ana Suelly and @PaulHeggarty at Lund Conference, March 2017.

  • Get a dedicated web address needed for ASLIB, i.e. something like www.aslib.info, or whatever the Brazil team prefers. It may be possible for us to manage this in Jena, first just tell us which name you want (having checked it's available). There's something of a trend to use .info for language databases, such as wals.info, but it's up to you.
  • Create a dedicated own portal for ASLIB, different from the standard Sound Comparisons portal. We will need an ASLIB logo for this.
  • Add speaker photos. See next comment below for details.
  • Add speaker names. Do this on: \OwnCloud\SndComp\Brazil\z Languages Reference\00 CURRENT Brazil Language Reference Data.xls
  • Correct language names. Do this on: \OwnCloud\SndComp\Brazil\z Languages Reference\00 CURRENT Brazil Language Reference Data.xls
  • Add orthographic transcriptions. A separate sheet will be provided for this shortly.
  • Add phonetic transcriptions. A separate sheet will be provided for this shortly.

The original problem in showing speaker photos is now resolved (#453). So the Brazil team now need to…

  • Upload all the photos that you want to show into this folder: \OwnCloud\SndComp\Brazil\x Speaker Photos\
  • Crop the images first, as you wish.
  • Other file formats may be possible, but for photos presumably .jpg is best.
  • The image filename should be the filename form of the language they represent, followed by _01.jpg, so for example Br_Tup_Tupari_Makurap_Samba_Dl_01.jpg.
  • It is possible to send multiple photos for the same speaker/language, by changing the number before .jpg, i.e. the next should be named _02.jpg, and so on. So for example: Br_Tup_Tupari_Makurap_Samba_Dl_02.jpg, and so on.
