A couple approaches:

  • Add a Role/Rolebinding giving linkerd-web ServiceAccount broad tap.linkerd.io watch access.
  • Add support for the user to paste a token into the dashboard (or pop open linkerd dashboard with a pre-populated token param in the URL).

For reference, the Kubernetes dashboard takes kubeconfig or token:
