when I try a search a get this message:

Ooops, An Error Occurred!
Unknow Error HTTP Code:406 Reason:Not Acceptable URL:https://twitter.com/phoenix_search.phoenix

it seems hotot uses phoenix instead of api 1.1 and it might be broken???

same here.
I'm using few search tabs to monitor tweets with special hashtags but yesterday it became broken

Exactly, sir.
Phoenix search uses api 1.0, and that version is deprecated. And 1.1 version of the API requires previous authentication for using it. Developers had lot of work to do with this (i think so...).

@jorgicio
I thought so. From what I've read for search you don't need user authentication, just the program authentication.
They did update hotot to use api 1.1 with the timelines etc. but I think that was users and not the official developers and that they're the ones that need to create an official bearer for hotot to do the search.
or something like that. I'm not a programmer...

It's odd though, since searching for users does work.

maybe @lyricat can shed some light on it? give us some update?
there was mention of hotot 2.0

I love hotot, I'd hate it to go to oblivion

Thanks for the fix, I also manually applied it a version installed with a package manager.
Confirmed to work. :)

Thank you for the wonderful tool. You can actually manually build it and the search api is already fixed in the same : http://www.samundra.com.np/twitter-api-changes-breaking-hotot-functionality/1224
