Hello,
I have some basic questions about compressed plotting. -> My own answers are written in italics
So far I have used a farmer/plotter (GIGAHORSE 2.4.1) with ~ 1400 uncompressed plots.
Why does Space Pool under “Partials” show client version 2.4?
A few weeks ago I installed a Gigahorse harvester/plotter with 32 GB of RAM and a GTX 1060 6GB graphics card. I used this to create C30 plots. Everything worked well and you could see the effects on the rewards, even if there were some STALES during plotting on the harvester.
A few days ago I upgraded the Gigahorse harvester/plotter to 128GB RAM and installed a GTX 3060 12GB. First I created C32 plots:
What does the “Gigahorse 3.0 Compressed Plots” list on the gigahorse page mean? That you can only create C32 plots with a 12 GB graphics card, or can only harvest C32 plots at most? -> it's possible to generate C33 plots, but the harvesting/farming doesn't work (only stales)
I simply tried creating C33 plots with the RTX 3060 12 GB graphics card. Takes 5 minutes. But can I actually do anything with it? In other words: can I create and harvest C33 plots with a 12 GB graphics card ar only create and harvest C32 plots?
_-> a 12 GB graphics card can generate c33 plots but can only harvest/farm C32 plots
Do the created compressed plots have to be processed by the harvester or can they be moved to the existing farmer? So do you need the graphics card for harvesting/farming or not? -> you need the graphics card for harvesting/farming
How many compressed plots c32 (c33) can I manage with a GTX 3060 12 GB (max farm size) if the GPU is necessary for this
_-> rtx 4070 Super can manage 0,19 PiB = 213,9 TB (physical) C32 plots - RTX 3060? C31 @256: 0.167644PiB (Post Ronski below), C32 how much less? -> see values below: @256: 0.086355 PiB
What does @128, @256 or @512 mean – is this the size of the RAM? -> this is the plot filter, before June 2024 it was 512, now 256 in 3 years 128 ("chia halving")
Zotac Gaming GeForce RTX 3060 Twin Edge OC LHR, 12GB (ZT-A30600H-10MLHR) - with undervolting and slight increase in memory speed

ProofOfSpace.exe farm -r 6 --diff 100000 -f .\plot-k32-c32-XXX.plot
Total success: 989 / 1000, 98.9 %

Max Farm Size @256: 0.086355 PiB (physical)
Max Farm Size @128: 0.0431775 PiB (physical)
Average time to compute quality: 0.814054 sec
Maximum time to compute full proof: 0 sec

ProofOfSpace.exe farm -r 6 --diff 50000 -f .\plot-k32-c32-XXX.plot
Total success: 1018 / 1000, 101.8 %
Total failures: 0 / 1000, 0 %
Total filtered: 1018 / 1018, 100 %
Partial Difficulty: 50000 (0.0011114 % chance)

Max Farm Size @256: 0.0838321 PiB (physical)
Max Farm Size @128: 0.041916 PiB (physical)
Average time to compute quality: 0.839437 sec
Maximum time to compute full proof: 0 sec
I wanted to adjust the difficulty to Space Pool as described. But when I click on “View Pool Login Link” and copy this link into the browser, I always get the message “Space pool login token expired”.
What could be the reason? Haven't found anything about it.
The reason was probably that I did this over a VNC connection. If you connect the keyboard/mouse and monitor to the PC and wait for a while, it works. This is how I was able to adjust the difficulty.
