If you drill down into a non-parseable entity, the UI 500s. Potential fixes:

  • If the first character is not a [ or { assume the form isn't drillable and skip.
  • Catch the exception and show a warning -- the biggest use case for this is trying to read unreadable things like unknown tag literals.
