Kitty Terminal + Fish + Spacefish: new Prompt lines in Vi mode or clipboard paste

Bug Report

I already filed bugs in Fish fish-shell/fish-shell#7087 and Kitty kovidgoyal/kitty#2743.
I have the same behavior with Starship prompt: starship/starship#1271

When I change vi command mode in the prompt or when I paste something from the clipboard, a new prompt is being emitted.

I have the same problem with a new prompt being emitted just when switching back and forth between normal and insert mode. I think this has to do with the fact that the prompt has several lines. I had the same problem with the pure prompt.
