Quality of Life Improvements

This proposal suggests enhancing Chatbot UI by introducing some handy UX improvements and features.

Details

These improvements aim to streamline user interactions and speed up the workflow, thus improving the overall user experience.

This list is constantly being expanded. More suggestions and potential improvements are always very appreciated!

Files

• Ability to upload multiple files simultaneously
• Implementing drag-and-drop functionality for easier file uploads
• Implementation of background processing for file embeddings, with a visual indicator (spinner icon or progress bar) for files currently being processed

Prompts

• Ability to save prompts from past chats in prompts library
• Feature to import prompts from a community source like https://github.com/f/awesome-chatgpt-prompts
• Feature while creating Assistants to fill in the System Prompt field with a prompt from the Prompts Library. Instead of manually entering or copy-pasting the prompt, one could click on an "Import" button and choose a saved one.

Chat / Workspaces

• Add an icon for items in the sidebar to use them in the conversation directly from there.
• Feature to assign colors to Chat Folders. The color would be displayed in the sidebar as background of the folder item.
• Feature to assign colors to Workspaces. The color would be displayed as chat area background.

Potential Future Enhancements

• Implementation of a notification system to alert users upon the completion of or failures while file processing
