What page(s) did you find the problem on?

https://developer.mozilla.org/docs/Mozilla/QA/Bug_writing_guidelines
https://developer.mozilla.org/es/docs/Mozilla/QA/Bug_writing_guidelines

What is the problem?

The page https://developer.mozilla.org/docs/Mozilla/QA/Bug_writing_guidelines automatically redirects to https://developer.mozilla.org/LN/docs/Mozilla/QA/Bug_writing_guidelines where LN is your language code. But that web page is inexistent if your language is spanish (es) and it says "Page not found Sorry, the page /es/docs/Mozilla/QA/Bug_writing_guidelines could not be found."

What did you expect to see?

If your web browser is configured to us-en, the url works correctly because it redirects to https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/QA/Bug_writing_guidelines, which redirects to the desired web page (which is https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/page.cgi?id=bug-writing.html)

If the page does not exist in my language, i would expect it to redirect me to an english page, instead of printing "page not found".

How to reproduce

Change your web browser to spanish(es), and then open https://developer.mozilla.org/docs/Mozilla/QA/Bug_writing_guidelines.

Other way of reproducing it: go to https://developer.mozilla.org/docs/MDN/Contribute/Getting_started and Change your language to Spain at the bottom of the page. Then open https://developer.mozilla.org/docs/Mozilla/QA/Bug_writing_guidelines.

@CTardon Thanks for filing. I see that the page actually no longer exist on MDN but instead redirects to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/page.cgi?id=bug-writing.html

I guess we have a redirect set-up for en-US but not other locales. Will take a look.

Since #1766 an error message appears that points to the English original, if the page is not yet localized in the current locale:

Example: https://developer.mozilla.org/es/docs/MDN/Writing_guidelines/Attrib_copyright_license
