Checklist component - Disable spacebar shortcut

Hi! I noticed a weird behaviour: when I insert a checklist into the editor, I finish adding items, and then open a new paragraph, If I go back to an item of the checklist to modify it, every press of spacebar will mark such item as checked.

Is this behaviour expected? Is there a way to disable it?
