Suggestion enhancement [Mouse utilities] - Allow customization in timing (Find My Mouse) #14138
Comments
Also being able to customize the |
I like the fade in/out effect and the current FadeDuration works well for me, but the ability to customize it would be a great addition. Perhaps also the diameter of the fade effect. Some people might like to make it larger or smaller. |
I really appreciate the level of work that has been done. But... sorry to do this :-) I like all the current options and don't think any should be dropped. But for me, a critical option is with "Mouse Highlighter". I really need to be able to have the area about the mouse pointer changed and the rest of the screen left normal. But I don't want the effect to only kick in when I press a mouse button (I can see others needing the current effect only when a mouse button is pressed, but for me, I don't need that). For it to be useful for me, it needs to stay on constantly while in "Mouse Highlighter is toggled on when I hit Win-Shift-H. For me, I can decide if I want a change when I click a mouse button, or if I just want the settings for when I press a mouse button to be the same as when I am not pressing a button Because others might not want a visible circle around the mouse pointer all the time, they could change the settings for that to be an opacity of zero, perhaps. The benefit of having "Mouse Highlighter" mode is that people watching me demo something can constantly see easily where the mouse pointer is at any given point. By allowing me to adjust the size of the circle around the mouse pointer, along with the colour of the circle and the opacity of the circle, I can choose to make the location of the mouse pointer stand out more or less starkly. Thanks for your consideration. |
@ChrisJohnTaylor i'd say that ask is more #14137 (which you created too :)) I'm going to then close this as i feel like this itself is done but the heart of your ask is #14137 in the comment above |
Description of the new feature / enhancement
I really like the ability to have the "Find My Mouse" effect go away two seconds after stopping movement, it would be great if this could be customized. It would be nice if it could be turned off completely or change the timing.
Scenario when this would be used?
Often when I am teaching, I might want to "Find My Mouse effect to stay on either a longer time or never go off by itself.
This is especially true if combined with another enhancement I suggested where the effect is flipped, allowing the area around the mouse cursor to be dimmed and/or color changed.
This would allow the "Find My Mouse" effect to be enabled and maybe just left on - allowing people watching to always see where the mouse pointer is, yet also allowing everything except around the mouse cursor to appear as normal.
