In the FZ-Editor on the area for custom layout is an item "Create new custom". The name of that item think that sounds incorrect.

Please rename the text Create new custom to Create new or Create new custom layout.
This sounds grammatically more correct.

So my thoughts here is this is actually creating a canvas based layout, not a grid based one.

@enricogior thoughts on having one of each and 'new grid' just defaults to 'single pane or maybe like a 2x2 grid'?

yes, it's creating a new canvas layout.
We will add the option to create a new canvas or a new grid when we update the overall UI to have a unified place to create/edit all layouts.
