I'd really like to have a handy app that can easily read ar codes that are displayed by other running apps (e.g. in a PDF document).
It could be done similarely to text extractor so it would react on a key-combo press and the user would be able to select a portion of the screen with the mouse to scan a qr code there (or even better: on keypress, highlight all qr codes found on the screen at the moment, and allow the user to easily open the associated links).
This coulb be extended to not only qr codes, but also maybe barcodes,...
Scenario when this would be used?
I'm working with documents and similar stuff on a daily basis. By now, around half of all documents I have to work with include qr codes for additional info. Always haveing to scan them from my smartphone is a very time consuming task, opening the scanned link on my pc takes around another 30 seconds.
It would really benefit me if i could just hit some keys and could instantly click on all visible qr codes.
Supporting information
I've noticed there are already similar applications (e.g. CodeTwo), so it should be possible.
Reasons I do not want to use their software:
I've tried CodeTwo on my home pc, it just doesent work correctly for me, it tries to scan codes from another part of the screen than i selected.
I do not want to install additional possible viruses / trojans on a pc with important data, it would be nice if it would be integrated in an app I already use on a daily basis.
(Please excuse my bad english, this is not my first language. Thx!)
