For me it doesn't work on:
Windows Build Number: 19041.264 (Version: Windows Home 2004 with Insider Preview)

No matter what shortcut I set, it does not launch!

Have you app crash logs in eventviewer?

@gemini38 @Manueloccorso

  • can you confirm that PowerToys is running?
  • open the Task Manager, go to the Details tab and check if there is PowerLauncher.exe running

Thank you.

@htcfreek I don't see any crash log in the eventviewer!

@enricogior Yes, PowerToys is running (there's the process, and also the icon, and the other services works) ** UPDATE: WRONG, PowerLauncher.exe wasn't running **
I also tried to restart it many times, I tried both with administrator priviledges and without them, and also disabling the Keyboard Manager (thinking it could be there the bug, maybe interfering with shortcuts).
Notice that, if I put a shortcut which should do something else (like ctrl+c) the shortcut isn't overwritten (I can still copy with ctrl+c, but Run does not launch), I don't know if this behaviour is wanted, in case it is not, the problem could be in the shortcut managing I guess, instead of the launching of Run.

UPDATE:
Even uninstalling PowerToys and installing directly the v0.18.1 doesn't fix the issue

In my case, with v0.18.1 "PowerToys Runner" process is running, but NOT the "Power Launcher.exe". If I force to start "Power Launcher.exe" (located in C:\Program Files\PowerToys\modules\launcher\PowerLauncher.exe ) manually, IT WORKS.

In versión v0.18 both process launch automatically.

This is a temporal solution, but I dont like it, cause if I close PowerToys in Tray, "Power Launcher.exe" process still running.

I checked what @daplon said, and actually the PowerLauncher.exe process wasn't running also for me. (In the previous comment I've answered to @enricogior as he asked me "is PowerToy.exe running?", sorry for the misunderstanding)
Restarting Windows after reinstall seems to solve the problem, since now when I start PowerToys also the PowerLauncher.exe starts, and when I close the icon tray both process are stopped. (and Run now works fine for any shortcut I try, also with already used shortcuts like ctrl+c, which now opens Run and don't copy text, as I expect).
