Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I have a ROS2 application running on my WSL, which connects via ethernet to robots. It is frustrating to know that a bridged ethernet mode does not exist for WSL, and I need to follow cryptic steps to be able to send packets on the physical ethernet adapter. This adapter is configured via Windows 11 and has a fixed static IPv4 address.
Describe the solution you'd like
A runtime setting where it is possible to connect to any windows adapter. Ideally on doing so,
ipconfig
on WSL yields the static IP of the adapter configured via Windows 11. Should also allow changing back the WSL to start using the DHCP of Windows which has internet connection over a different adapter.Describe alternatives you've considered
