Environment

  • TFS on-premises, version: 15.117.26714.0
  • Private agent: Windows_NT. Agent version: 2.117.2

Issue Description

Task name: Run Functional Tests
I update the "runsettings" file to change the result location as below

C:\TR</ResultsDirectory>

However, after each running, the "TR" folder is deleted automatically. This issue does not happen before. It has just happen recently.

Please help support.
Thanks,

@Tigerforce328 The results directory will be cleaned up after each run. The results publish will be taken care by the task. Is there a reason why you are looking for the results directory ?

The problem is that when cleaning up the results, they delete the "TR" folder also. This folder is created manually by user. They should not delete it.

@Tigerforce328 This behavior is as per design. Results Directory is created (if not present) while test run and is deleted after test run is completed.

Hi abhishkk,
Is there any (hidden) setting to stop deleting HTML results automatically? We need these HTML files to for reporting tasks. Then, we will delete them manually.

@Tigerforce328
Test results are uploaded as attachments to test run hub. After upload is successful, we delete the result directory. You can download those results from the test run hub. I hope this will help in your scenario.

There is no hidden way to stop deleting html results as its part of clean up process after successful upload to test run hub.

any update on this topic? since it has been asked a long ago may be someone has furred something out. Could be there are events like finish test run or publish results, may be handling those somewhere and copy .trx files from results out dir. Well that's just a thought no proof of concept yet.

Hello,
And if at the opposite we don't want this TestResults directory (VisualStudio 2022, .net7.0), what can we do ?
