Hi @nipatriknilsson, I had to work with copilot for this one so check out what it suggested and let me know if this helped. Service Workers have specific requirements regarding their execution environment, particularly around security and filesystem access. When running in environments like a VirtualBox shared folder, several issues can arise due to the nature of how these shared folders work (e.g., limitations on certain types of file operations, differences in how filesystem events are propagated, etc.). Given the error message you're encountering, it seems like the Service Worker registration is failing due to the underlying filesystem's limitations or peculiarities when accessed through a VirtualBox shared folder. Here are a few suggestions to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:
If none of these suggestions resolve the issue, consider providing more details about your setup (e.g., versions of VirtualBox, Guest Additions, the guest OS, and the specific development tools you're using) on relevant forums or support channels. Sometimes, specific configurations can reveal unique solutions or workarounds. |

I have mounted a Vitualbox share as the .config/Code directory. It works with most operations, but service workers won't start.
Example error message:
Error loading webview: Error: Could not register service worker: AbortError: Failed to register a ServiceWorker for scope [...] The Service Worker system has shutdown..
What can I do to make them work?
Mounting from host:
Adjusting privileges in guest:
What am I missing?
