Looks like your connection timed out downloading the new language server. You can try downloading again by closing and re-opening VS Code (if that doesn't work then let us know). Otherwise you can turn off the new language server and use our Jedi support instead.

I tried turning off and on again a few times, and reinstalled the plugin a couple of times to no avail.

I'm behind a corporate firewall which may cause the issue.

Switching jedi to True sorted out my issues.

Ah, your corporate proxy is probably causing issues. Follow #2385 for us fixing this.
