Unfortunately, as long as we do a URL change switching workspaces, we loose fullscreen in web.

I filed an issue against Chrome, but they do not care about this it seems.

A good fix on our end would be to allow for workspace changes without window reload (#35109)

This is nothing to fix on our end, but using native fullscreen is a good workaround.
