Load merged video after export incl. chapters to review cut points inside LC #253 (comment).

Ideally in the advanced option after create chapters e.g. "Load merged video after export" with a tool tip to explain use case e.g, "view merged video with segment chapters to review cut points inside LC".

Since auto loading only makes sense for merged videos and only if chapters are included, perhaps either automatically enable create chapters if auto load merged is enabled? Or display only when merged and create chapters is selected, allthough some might miss it/not realise this possibly to be a good workflow to use.

I keep getting users who wonder why cut points are not always accurate and thus need to check the exported video manually rather than doing this inside the app. 😄 Any chance we can add this soon, please?
This difficulty re reviewing is mentioned by many in here for a very long time, any further improvements could help a lot.

Also wondering, might it be possible to use this 'Advanced export setting/feature' -> "open merged video to review exported segments" and have it launch a second instance of LossslessCut so the user can review the segments and if changes are needed they can just close it out and continue working in the previous oiginal window, instead of having to reload the original video/project?

Or would a better approach be somehow to implement that when LC opens the merged video (for reviewing cut points) and detect the original video(project) file available, to then have a button for just opening the "original video project"....
and when this is opened a button to "review merged video", so one could go potentially go back/forth either way?
The tricky thing could be to distinguish between different merged files unless the original video/project could keep track of that (like we discussed before to have more info in the project file).

What do you think @mifi ?

Launching two instances of losslesscut is not really supported (it may work but it may cause issues too, like conflicting config files).

Maybe a simple workaround could be to have a third button in this dialog:

Sometning like "load exported file" that loads it into the current losslesscut. then if there is a "recent" list of previously opened files also, the user could easily jump back to the previous file.

That would be great, so losslesscut loads the exported file, knows the times of the cut points in the exported file from the last cut session, user can check them easily. If there is a error user can go back in file history for changing cuts. If all cuts are fine user can go for next video.
