• NQPTP now responds to playing status information coming from Shairport Sync. This improves the accuracy of the timing information it provides.

• An important bug in NQPTP prevented it from adjusting to a player's clock that restarted having stopped during a period while the player was not running.
• NQPTP can now compile and run on FreeBSD.

January 2, 2022.

NQPTP can now deal with multiple independent clients by using individually-named shared memory interfaces and associated timing peer lists. You will have to update Shairport Sync to be compatible with this new version of NQPTP. (This is really for advanced users.)

December 8, 2021.

A major under-the-hood update today. This update is required for the updated Shairport Sync because the timebase has been changed for improved stability and accuracy.

November 9, 2021.

The development branch of nqptp has been updated to version 1.1-dev-83-g5ba5038 with a possible workaround for what appears to be an Apple bug.

The bug is as follows: when an Apple Silicon Mac or an AppleTV uses a Shairport Sync device, play may not resume after sleep. This has also been observed on the Apple Airport Express and other AirPlay 2 devices. This update seems to work around the problem.
