Hi,

Could you please explain how the polishing in Flye works? I just noticed that extra rounds of polishing in Flye can identify and resolve small structural errors (errors are centred in a 1–2 kb DNA segment). Interestingly, other polishers, even using short reads, were unable to fix these "error clusters".

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

Polishing algorithm was described in this paper - https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.1604560113

Yes, in our experience it can error correct structural errors, up to tens of kbs. We are using this feature in Hapdup.
