When I set the ackhighlight flag, I get this error when searching. I think this may have been caused by this commit b9b8c0a

I'm running Mac OS 10.9.2 and this is my vim info:

Small note: using &hlsearch instead of v:hlsearch fixex the problem for me. What's the main difference between those two? :)

tl;dr: &hlsearch enables the highlight feature, v:hlsearch determines whether search highlighting is on(from :help v:hlsearch).

But v:hlsearch, was added recently on vim, I'll change the code to do a fallback to &hlsearch when v:hlsearch does not exists.
