Option to hide the tab close button

When trying to switch to a tab, it’s easy to sloppily move the mouse and click. But a close button suddenly appears where you click and the tab closes.

A close icon might be useful for users who are new to web browsers in general, but it’d be a good fit for the UI minimalism philosophy to be able to switch off the close icon and use the middle button or Ctrl+W to close tabs.
